Ambit CEO Kim Hayes Appointed to College of Charleston Board

Ambit CEO Kimberley Hayes was appointed to the Board of Advocates for the College of Charleston’s (CofC) School of Sciences and Mathematics. As a board member, Kim will work with other technology, academic, and business leaders to advance the visibility and awareness of the school’s STEM programs and collaborate in developing experiential learning opportunities for CofC students in concert with regional technology companies.

“There’s no doubt that education is the great differentiator for our workforce,” explained Kim Hayes. “I believe that business leaders need to become involved at the academic level to ensure that our students are prepared to select and advance their careers when they graduate. Our engagement not only helps our students but also drives regional economic development. By coordinating activities among business leaders, professors, and STEM students, we develop sought after talent and create emerging business opportunities that propel economic growth.”

Dean of the School of Sciences and Mathematics, Sebastian van Delden commented “we’re honored to have Kim Hayes join our Board of Advocates and offer her experience and perspective to our school and our students. As an entrepreneurial CEO of a successful technology company, she’ll serve as an inspiration to our students, especially the young women in our STEM programs. Kim has also expressed her commitment to helping our school attract a diverse student body and connecting them with local STEM-focused companies so they can remain in Charleston after they graduate and fuel the economic growth that will employ future graduates. We all look forward to working closely with her.”

Having been born and raised in the Carolinas, Kim feels a strong attachment to the region and its people. She applied the knowledge she gained as a graduate of Methodist College in Fayetteville, NC to build one of the largest woman-founded and woman-owned technology companies in the DC area. As current CEO of The Ambit Group, her teams continue to lead some of the most compelling digital transformations in the federal government, with offices in the greater Washington DC area, Huntsville, AL and Charleston, SC.
