Ambit wins NOAALink IT Infrastructure Strategic Management Contract
Ambit Group, LLC (Ambit) recently added the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to its growing list of federal customers. On February 19, 2010 NOAA awarded the Strategic Management component of its far-reaching NOAALink program to the Reston-based consulting firm, a win that will positively impact the small business' workforce size and estimated annual revenue over the contract's potential 10-year lifecycle.
Ambit, a Woman-Owned, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), will provide strategic management support services to NOAA's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). Through the Strategic Management portion of NOAALink, Ambit will assist the NOAA OCIO, and Line Office OCIOs, in ensuring the use of leading-edge technology and methods to better meet the NOAA mission. Ambit will provide governance, decision support, enterprise architecture support, and project management support to help NOAA improve services and drive down costs.
The ceiling for the award is $30 Million over the 10-year period of performance. Ambit will immediately begin work in support of the initial task order. Ambit President Kim Shackleford is excited about the win and what it means for the growing company, which has been recognized as one of Washington Technology's "Fast 50" in each of the last 3 years.
"Ambit has worked hard as a small business to establish credibility, legitimate capabilities, and the long-standing trust of our federal customers," said Shackleford. "I think winning the Strategic Management component of NOAALink is a testament to our success in this regard and a sign of our viability both as a prime contractor and as a partner in this business."
Ambit will team with Grant Thornton LLP in support of NOAALink.
"This win was a collective effort," said Shackleford. "Our team is positioned to start quickly, establish a foundation, and effectively serve NOAA for several years to come."
NOAA's mission is to understand and predict changes to the Earth's environment and conserve and manage coastal and marine resources to meet our Nation's economic, social, and environmental needs. Ambit will kick-off its work in support of NOAA's Office of the Chief Information Officer immediately.
