Ambit Supports
Small Business Association,
Office of the Administrator
Customer Need:
From 2006 – 2009, Ambit led a portfolio of projects for SBA's Office of the Administrator, directly supporting the execution of more than 30 of the Administrator's "Priority Projects" that impacted all levels of the organization . Ambit accomplished this by providing communications and training, organizational development, facilitation, and program and performance management services. Ambit's multi-faceted support assisted the Administrator in bridging the gap between Headquarters and SBA's far-reaching field operations, and further assisted SBA Management to prioritize recommendations gathered from the field and strategize the execution of projects that were devised and aligned to drive SBA towards realization of the Administrator's Reform Agenda.
Ambit Solution:
- Facilitated multiple SBA Senior Management Conferences at which input was elicited from employees and delivered directly to the Administrator and his team;
- Supported the chartering of SBA's Office of Performance Management (PMO) and assisted that office in devising a system of tracking, assessing, and reporting progress on multiple projects;
- Developed and administered all training to support the agency's launch of a new and improved automated 8(a) certification application process, the Business Development Management Information System (BDMIS);
- Led all marketing and outreach efforts for the initial launch of SBA's Emerging 200 Initiative, an effort to encourage growth through training sustainable business practices for established businesses located in underserved markets;
- Provided support for Re-Organization of the Office of Capital Access (OCA);
- Supported Strategic Mission and Vision Development for the newly-formed Office of Entrepreneurial Education (OEE) within the Office of Entrepreneurial Development (OED);
- Designed and Led Teambuilding Workshop for the Office of Business Development;
- Supported the Office of Women's Business Ownership (OWBO) to develop an improved investment model for Women's Business Centers;
- Supported the development of a Procurement Advisory Council aimed at engaging SBA's procurement professionals throughout the country to position pressing issues to the Administrator and Senior Leadership for address and resolution.
Results and Accomplishments:
Throughout contract execution from 2006 – 2009, Ambit maintained a 100% staff retention rate and delivered on time performance against 100% of milestones and contract deliverables under multiple task orders.
