The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) established a formal Program Management function to improve program management for all Information Technology (IT) projects. The Program Management Division (PMD) is responsible for ensuring that effective program and project management practices are implemented to manage all IT initiatives and investments.
Ambit's role is to assist the OCIO with the development and continued improvement of the practice of program and project management at the USPTO. Ambit assists in the recommendation and implementation of best practices, governance, processes, tools, and training to create a more structured program/project management environment. Since beginning this support function in 2007, Ambit has created twelve project management training modules, created and maintained a project management handbook, created and maintained a lessons learned repository, assisted in the development of SDLC versions 3.0, 3.1, and 4.0, and is currently in the process of creating Computer Based Trainings (CBTs) for SDLC 4.0 and the USPTO project document repository, and is creating a web based SDLC reference guide. Ambit's PMP certified project managers lead projects at USPTO that require full system life cycle support. The technical experience of the team includes hardware and software migration, Cloud initiatives, and infrastructure improvements.
Ambit's history at USPTO demonstrates a proven track record of quality candidate selection and high employee retention. Our continued PMO support and desktop stabilization project support, with no requested changes in staff, is evidence of that success.
