Minimum/General Experience
The Research Analyst will be responsible for assisting Ambit's Research Director with the execution and analysis of custom survey and other quantitative and qualitative research projects from inception through reporting. The successful candidate should be able to leverage advanced analytical and research methods in the completion of research projects. Key responsibilities will include:
- Assist Ambit's Research Director with Implementation of all aspects of survey research from survey design and data collection to analysis and presentation of results
- Design, test, and administer surveys
- Assist with and lead quantitative and qualitative data analysis (in some cases with minimal supervision)
- Evaluate client business questions and identify appropriate research methods to address those questions
- Manage and mentor junior staff in executing research protocols and documenting findings / recommendations in a client-ready manner
- Work effectively with internal partners to pursue new project opportunities (e.g., responding to RFPs)
- Work with client stakeholders to implement Ambit action plan recommendations
In addition, the ideal candidate will have a broader history in the use of quantitative methods for organizational performance measurement. Experience with developing performance measures with effective data collection approaches for monitoring organizational progress against strategic goals is highly desirable.
Other Responsibilities
- Analyze and present results effectively to audiences of varying levels of technical expertise
- Work with other teams to develop, collect, and assess performance metrics in support of organizational transformation efforts. (These metrics may be collected through survey research or through other means
- Assist with the Implementation of research focused projects through execution process
- Assist with the development of Ambit's quantitative and qualitative research capability
- Be responsive to Ambit clients and solve problems quickly and concisely
- Participate as needed in responding to RFIs and RFQs
Skill / Knowledge Requirements
- A firm understanding of research methods (survey research methods in particular)
- Proficiency in using tools such as SAS, SPSS, R, etc. for data manipulation and analysis
- Intermediate to advanced SAS programming proficiency
- VBA experience is also a plus
- Understanding of advanced statistical methods (e.g., factor analysis, regression analysis)
- Knowledge of various survey research data collection mediums (e.g., web-based survey, mail questionnaires, telephone surveys)
- Understanding of probability and non-probability sampling methods (e.g., SRS, stratified random sampling, convenience sampling)
- Proficiency in creating client-ready written reports using the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Ability to communicate effectively with client stakeholders from program management to the senior executive service (SES) level
- Strong writing skills; building a story from the data, and communicating that story effectively in verbally and through written communication
- Must be able to work independently
- Some management experience of and ability to mentor junior staff
- 5+ years of relevant experience
Minimum Education
BA/BS or equivalent work experience
