Minimum/General Experience
- Experience with Internet technology and security issues, Solid knowledge of information security principles and practices
- Understanding of advanced security protocols and standards
- Up-to-date understanding of the security measures at all stages of the informatics systems life cycle and experience with software and security architectures
- Experience should include security policy development, procedures, standards and guidelines based on knowledge of best practices and compliance requirements; security education, network penetration testing, application vulnerability assessments, risk analysis and compliance testing.
- Knowledge of information security standards (e.g., ISO 17799/27002, etc.), rules and regulations related to information security and data confidentiality (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA, etc.) and desktop, server, application, database, network security principles for risk identification and analysis
- Experience conducting Agency-wide data classification assessment and security audits and management of remediation plans.
- Collaborate with IT management, the legal department, safety and security, and law enforcement agencies to manage security vulnerabilities and aware of user security procedures and creation as needed.
- Experience with security practices of Intranet and Extranet
- Understanding of administration of various firewalls, routers, TCP/IP, network Gateways, etc.
- CISSP, GIAC or other security certifications desired.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
